The Cambridge Art Salon nurtures art and creative ideas created by the public, for the public. Our unique policy of inclusion reaches out to both marginalised groups and individuals in the arts and creative sectors with a passion for arts and creativity.
We are the only arts enterprise incubator in Cambridge, serving artists and cultural entrepreneurs who need nurturing, affordable environment to springboard their creative idea-with studio space and much, much more. This means we are open to artists at different stages of their practice, from a range of backgrounds.
Our community gallery is a home to a range of contemporary art showcased by the public, community groups and artists across the local community and surrounding region. We also pioneer creative projects with a community focus, plus offer business support to artists and creative practitioners wishing to develop their practice.
We are founded after a creative studio for 20 artists and creatives on Newmarket Road, Cambridge, was earmarked for development and faced closure. Luckily, bigger premises were found and the Cambridge Art Salon was incorporated on the 1st April 201, opening to the public in September 2011.
Long term, we would like the space to be used as a stepping stone towards a permanent art centre for Cambridge, with better facilities for the community.
The Cambridge Art Salon is a social enterprise and operates as a not for profit company ltd by guarantee.

Tom Phillips Stonecrafts is run by a time-served banker mason trained in Portland, Dorset and has wide experience of the stone and conservation industries. Having worked as a mason for 8 years on a variety of projects, Tom now takes pleasure in sharing his skills with others who wish to learn how to work with stone.
Tom is now starting to run a full range of stone carving courses in The Woodyard, Cheddars Lane, Cambridge. These will be 10 week courses and will be moulded by the participants to suit their wishes in order for them to achieve their own personal satisfaction.
The Workshop provides the perfect creative environment and Tom has built a space specifically designed for these carving sessions.
